In the nude

Next week is my last week at University so I'm up to my neck writing my final report and trying to think of smart things to say when doing my collection presentation so it's no wonder my mind has started to drift off and think about my upcoming weekend away to Ayr.

Whilst we are only staying in a caravan park and are going to be with close friends there is a definite air of trouble as us 'kids' get a caravan together! Plus the promise of crazy golf and penny arcades makes my seven-year-old inner child squeal with anticipation!  Don't even start me on the alcohol filled nights we're due to have either...

So naturally I've had phone calls from my friend asking how 'dressy' I'll be going for the evening entertainment and disco (tribute band 'Spice' are playing so for at least one night I'll be dawning lycra and pigtails) and to be honest until a few days ago my holiday style was getting completely ignored but dawning deadlines and nights spent pored over scribbled notes I wrote many months ago have called for some immediate retail therapy purely just to stop myself from going insane!

Below is one such gem I have bought in the deadline desperation, purchased from the sale section of asos (whilst university is more or less over the remaining workload has halted overtime at work so my student  budget still applies) and I have to say I fell in love immediately!

I will admit that the search for this started off as a search for a satin, long sleeved maxi dress for a trip to London later this year but this was too pretty to ignore and will be ideal for my little weekend away! Whilst a kimono style sleeve has never been something that appeals to me this fabric makes it look a lot less 'old.' Plus the colour is to die for, admittedly a lot of my going out dresses fall into a category of black or navy so this is a nice change from my comfort zone and since it's getting to summer it's time to lighten up!

So that was just one of my 'exam blues' purchases, however this one was much better than my Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets game purchase that happened a few weeks back...next week I'll probably have bought something else a bit cooky to keep my spirits high!!

Gotta love the instant cheer a new dress brings at the end of term!
